A brief quote from my personal favorite blog,
not the religious type. This entry is written by the senior pastor of a church in Boston:
If my faith is "radical," does your merely run of the mill "faith" have any meaning whatsoever? (taken from Bonhoeffer's objections)
I am certainly
not saying MY faith is radical and YOURS is not; in fact, how I'd like to read it is "is my run of the mill faith good enough?" I certainly don't have the theological background to discuss this (maybe you do so please enlighten me), but I wonder what I can do radical for God, because his disciples were radical and Jesus was radical and I want to be like them. Obviously signing up to go live for God in la Cote d'Ivoire could be considered a radical step, one that will take me away from my ROTM faith. But if this opportunity hadn't have come up, what else could I do? Here's a selfish list for you to think about and add to, you radical faith master, you ...
-support someone through Journey Corps in prayer or in offerings to do something radical and be blessed through their experience.
-sign up for Journey Corps yourself !!! Look at the
tracks page to see what radical thing you could do.
-sign up for a shorter term radical missions trip with Journey Corps (such as three weeks in the summer)
-be radical in another way for Jesus -- how can you make your faith radical instead of ROTM?
