So it's been a little awhile and I'm not sure what to write. Things just continue as normal. And when I say normal, I mean normal. Tens months in, I don't know what to write because most stuff doesn't stand out in my mind anymore.

As much as the daily or weekly routine gets normal there are certain things that make me think, "I'm definitely not in the States anymore."

Such as being at church and hearing the guy directing the service ask the Senoufo choir to sing something we can dance to. I can't imagine hearing that in an American church service!

Or riding my bike home as fast as I can because a man wearing a traditional mask came out of the neighborhood sacred forest and is running around hitting people with a stick.

As far as the day to day things go, here are a few things that don't even cause me to think twice any more. And let me tell you, this list was hard to write!

- Sifting through food to pick out bugs

- Finding lizards in my shoes

- Nose-picking in public

- Seeing animals such as cows, goats, chickens, etc. wandering around any part of town

- Killing cockroaches

- Wearing the same clothes several days in a row

- Carrying around toilet paper in my bag

- Women breast-feeding anywhere and everywhere

- Driving on the wrong side of the road

- Waiting.

- Saying "kokoko" instead of knocking

- "Giving the news" and "asking for the road"

- Navigating around ditches, garbage piles, potholes, sand, and animals on my bike

- Random people saying my name and greeting me even though I have absolutely no idea who they are

- Cooking: sitting on a stool outside, not having a cutting board, and cooking over charcoal

- Riding on a motorcycle more often than in a car

- The electricity going off and not knowing the reason why
