So I figured it was about time to get on the blogging bandwagon since this will be our new form of communication for the next few years!

Life has been very eventful in the past few weeks...we have packed up out life in VA and moved back to NY. Since arriving in NY we have been bouncing between my mom's house, and a cottage on the lake with Eric's family. We had amazing weather at the lake and spent every day on the boat. I got up on water skis for the first time, so according to Eric's mom I can officially call myself a Houppert. We also discovered our dog Maggie (our daschund) can swim, when she launched herself off the side of the boat after a buoy. Crazy dog...thank God for Sarah and Jay's willingness to adopt her while we are gone:) We also celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary :) and I finished up my master in human services and marriage and family counseling. Needless to say things have been pretty eventful, and we have a lot to be thankful for!

On a business note, Eric and I starting working for Home Leasing this week, putting all out earnings towards Africa. I had a flash back to high school and our college summer jobs as we found ourselves landscaping, covered in dirt and sweat in Gananda yesterday. But no complains, a job is a job!

Anyway, we are planning on being in Africa in September so there is plenty to do, but until then we are camping out in NY and spending as much time with family and friends as humanly possible.
Hopefully my post will get more exciting the closer we get to leaving:)
