So I commited my self to a fellowship with God endevor. I attempted to do 48hours awake with constant prayer and hourly scripture reading. I was met with the most intense spiritual warfare of my life. I was both a failure and a success. The purpose was to get closer to God and explore his call to my life. Following is a breakdown of my attempt;

Day 1

12:15am

2Chronicles 3 / vrs. 2 --- Soloman built the temple. / I was wide awake when I started and felt like I could stay awake for the full 48 hours. It may not have been the purpose of the passage but it made me feel confident that I could build myself into what God wants me to be. After my reading and prayer I felt drained and couldn't stay awake.

10:00am

Isaiah 42 / vrs. 8 --- I AM the Lord; that is my name; and MY glory I will not give to another. Nor my praise to graven images. / He is the Lord MY God and I will follow!!! It is about his glory not mine.

6:00pm

Luke 13 / vrs. 16 --- And ought notthis woman who satan has kept bound for 18 years be loosed..... / He is always active in our lives even when we havn't seen evidence for a while.

Day 2

11:00am

Joel2 / vrs.12 --- "Even now," declares the Lord "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weaping and mourning." / It's never too late!! Come and he will work.

/ vrs. 32 --- Everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved..... Amung the survivors who the Lord has Called. / I have paraphrased it, but the what I got from it was this If you call on him you will be saved, and if he calls on you, you MUST answer. and my experience is that nthing goes right when you're fighting his call.

2:30pm

Numbers 6 / vrs.22-26 --- The Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how are to bless them. Say to them.'" "The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord turn his face toward you, and give you peace."' / Just reading it gave me peace.

7:00pm

1 John 5 / vrs. 3-4 --- This is love for God: To obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. / All we need is faith and he will provide. Let go and he will lead the way. He will work it all out.

11:00pm

Matthew 22 / vrs. 37-40 --- Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the 1st and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself. All the laws of the prophets hang on these 2 commandments. / If humanity as a whole could follow these 2 than the world would be such an amazing and peacefull place. but.... it starts with us and spreads!

So that was how it went... I succeeded in praying constantly, coming closer to God, understanding his call on me NOW, and developing daily devotional time( which has been one of my major struggles in life). I failed to stay awake through it. On one of the evenings during this I went out side, it was clear skies full moon and windy. I prayed to God to still the wind for 1 minute so I could enjoy his beautiful night. 30 seconds later the wind died for 1 minute, It was amazing, and I felt him answer my earlier prayer of "what do you call me to do now."
