Hey everyone!

I'm new to doing missions as I have previously posted online. I was curious as to what West Africa is like? I can't wait to go and join the team that will be put together. To be honest I'm super excited to go but I'm a little nervous I've never been away from home for a year. But I know that I can do it with God's help. I feel very lead to do a missions trip I feel that is this one. I'm praying on this everyday. Is there anyone else that is going on the mission trip to West Africa?

oiy...I'm so sorry love...I can't believe I didn't even see you posted something back!

It's so good to hear back from you and a little bit about why you're exploring this avenue and what you hope to do.  I am someone who definitely faced opposition from friends and family members and the coolest part about it is now...is that God has been using that opposition to start a work in their lives. I didn't do anything! But He taught me that it isn't my job or responsibility to change lives...its for the Holy Spirit, I'm only called to live a life faithful to the Good News about Jesus Christ. So take encouragement my friend, God is at work in and through you and also in those who oppose you.

I was actually someone who had never gone on a missions trip as well, which is funny. I have been to Mexico, but being from Southern California I didn't count that for myself, because it's like in my backyard haha. So are you looking for a missions trip right now...like a weekish one? or were you talking about JC for your missions trip?  Dude, it's so scary and exciting I'm sure for you right now and I want to hear more about this process that God is taking you on. Keep it up my sister!

Hey girl! I'm sorry I didn't back to you sooner I've been busy with family, and looking for a job. Sounds like you had an amazing time over there with Journey Corps and that's awesome to hear how it was life changing. Thank you for answering my questions. As for me, I've never been on a missions trip so this will be my first time if my application is approved I'm praying that it will be. I'm checking out Journey Corps because God has placed it on my heart to do a missions trip, throughout this time I have been praying about the Lord's Will be done in me. As far as, my life goes I've gone through some college for Elementary Ed and my living situation is with my parents unfortunately for the time being. I  would love to be out on my own, but I know that will happen all in God's timing. My journey has had its ups and downs, its been difficult to have full support from some of my friends on this because they don't want me to be gone that long, my family definitely supports me.

Right now I'm trying to get a job so I can do a missions trip it certainly has not been easy but God has given me a job through babysitting which helps towards raising money and I might be getting another part time job that is not federal based. God has blessed me with an awesome grandma she is willing to pay for my passport and I wasn't even expecting that and I know that God was and has been behind everything that has been happening. I'm very involved with church and I love it I love being on fire for Christ. Just being able to serve him is so amazing I'm very passionate about missions and doing what He wants me to do. I learned about Journey Corp through a missions conference in Spokane, WA and I am passionate about one day in the future to do a long term missions through teaching younger children and seeing them come to Christ. What are you doing specifically in Africa? Thank you for the prayers I definitely needed them. I'm super excited to hear back from you. I hope you have an awesome day I'm praying for you always!! :)

Hey again! It was an awesome opportunity to be in Ivory Coast...I've been there for the last 14 months with Journey Corps and it has been such an absolute life changing experience. It was difficult and stretching, but so worth it. Basically we learned missions from the best, lived in native host families and learned to live in community. Going in Ivory Coast was the first time I had ever been to Africa.

Well...that is a super vague answer to your questions. If you have any specific ones, please let me know.  What about you? Why are you checking Journey Corps out? Where are you in life...school/living situation...? What's your journey been like so far and all that jazz? Stoked to hear from you. Take care and will be praying for you!

Hey Alyssa, its nice to meet you. That is really cool that you got to be on the Ivory Coast what was it like? Have you ever been to Africa and what is it like? That really helps me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one. I agree its definitely all apart of the journey.
