Hello again,
This last month I think God has been teaching me to be patient and wait on his timing and not mine.
It's been a busy month. I've been going to the orphanage helping with the kids and just spending time with Nestor and the staff as well. The frustrating this I haven’t been able to get any chickens yet. The place that sells the chicks is not able to get them for some reason. So I've…

Ok so this blog I guess I’m announcing some pretty big news/changes in my journey here in Africa…
The Big news is... I've moving from Korhogo back down to Bouake. I'm doing this because there are more opportunities to work with animals in Bouake then in Korhogo as of now. It's sad because I do miss my family in Korhogo and I'll visit them often. I was a really good goodbye to them and explaining what I wanted to do in Bouake. But I'm moving in with a different Ivorian family…

Hello Everyone! Thanks for supporting me on this crazy journey of mine.
So lately God has been teaching me a lot. It's been really humbling for me to realize that me worth is not in what I do but it's who I am. I remember thinking that I came to Africa to serve for a year! In my mind serve meant work, working I…

So today 12/22/10 after classes we all went out to play softball with a missionary family who is staying here for Christmas. We played a pretty good game but then had to quit because a helicopter comes and lands in the middle of the field. haha Only in Africa.
So the festivities began basically starting Christmas eve day with a movie marathon of Christmas movies. At night around 8 we all headed to Jamberu, the church I go to, for an all night…

Hello,
I have now been in Africa for one full month! wow. It's weird living here and already being so adjusted to life as in the culture and just looking back and seeing how scared I was of going into town and not knowing anything. Now I still don't know much but all it's like all this comfort I had at home just kinda melts away after you havent had it in a while. I no longer think "O man…

Hey there friendos. SO I got some stories about what I've been up to.
So alot of my time is spent in training and French class during the day. And French homework as well. Going to classes with Bachari training us on how identify a problems in villages that need to be fixed and how to go about doing that. Also just culture learning how to behave. Yeah pretty long days. But our…

So first week in Africa. It's really hard for me to describe this last week. I guess information overload. In like ALL ways possible. There has been SO much to do and SO much to learn it's important that I keep on reminding myself that I shouldn't doubt God's power and what he can use me for here no matter where I end up. Basically I feel like a sponge trying to soak up as much information as possible.…
