Facilities and Funds

I just posted new photos from my latest trip to Cote d'Iviore. Daniel and I were able to inventory the dorms and apartments and access their readiness. Based on our findings I have adjusted my fund raising goals, so we can updates the dorms with some new appliances and supplies. I want to remind everyone that we have a matching grant for $25,000 (for every dollar we raise they will match it, up to $25K) and I need to raise an additional $50,000 by August 1st. Remember if every member of our…See More

Getting the campus ready!

We arrived safely in Bouake, Cote d'Iviore at the new Journey Corps Training center. Daniel and I have been inventorying what is available and working in the dorms and housing at the site. We will need some new appliances and furniture and a lot of cleaning, but the campus is beautiful and the dorms are still in pretty good shape. I’ll post pictures in the next day or two of the dorms and apartments, and our planned use of the facilities and campus. Keep us in your prayers it’s a beautiful…See More

Update Blogs are going to help build an international ministry called Journey Corps which was launched to participate in the missional movement among young people from all over the world.

The Idea started circulating in the summer of 2008, when Don Thornton, the Senior VP of Finance, wrote a concept for a new ministry called VentureCorps. The idea was a ministry for Christian young adults to serve around the world. This idea percolated for months with…

Hi Jim,

There is nothing for shore at this time, and chances are actually pretty slim, but the organisation I refered to would be Medical Relieve International. A britisch/US NGO.

Your best chance for a guesthouse in Brussels is probably in the OM Base. I don't have the contacts, here but i will be able to forward them to you by next month or so.

My professional career has been in sales and my husbands training is in graphic design. We've both serve in many roles in our church of about 500 members. We've been active in our youth, childrens and mens/ladies ministries and Trevor is a deacon. I feel like I'm a nurturer by nature, I love programs supporting women and children. I love to plan, organize and execute. (must be my sales/marketing background.) and I enjoy cooking and have some experience organizing meals for larger groups.
Trevor started his own business 3 years ago and has done well with it. He is interested in exploring business as missions and finding opportunities to reach people for Christ while helping them establish business opportunities of their own.
We have two sons, 2 and 5 and they are ready for an adventure.
Well, that's us in a nut shell. We would love to know more about what the Lord is doing I'm RCI.
God Bless

The belief in the inner beauty of each and every human being is at the heart of L’Arche…and at the heart of being human… We do not discover who we are, we do not reach true humanness, in a solitary state; we discover it through mutual dependency, in weakness, in learning through belonging.

Hi Jim! Yeah, I think that sounds right up my alley. I would love to help lead art therapy sessions with those girls, that sounds amazing! I'm finishing up my undergrad in art therapy, this semester, and I'm about to take on an internship under a licensed art therapist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, so I'm sure that by the end of this semester (especially), I'll have lots of insight to offer! Also, I have been in contact with Michelle Theisen, and I'm going forward with the applications for Journey Corps! Thank you for the insight and encouragement, it's good to know there's a place for my passions there.
