Last Update Back in the States

 Well this is my last update!I'm back in the States now!My last month in Cote d'Ivoire was bitter sweet. Saying goodbye is really hard and I had to do some of the hardest goodbyes I think I've ever had to do in my life.God is constant through all things. Why are you interest in Journey Corps?
I was originally was going to go through WorldVenture to visit the missionaries form my church here in Auburn at GCC. However the timing wasn't right since the exact time I was planning on being over there (September) they were coming back the the states for a home assignment. Anyway exploring WorldVentures website I found Journey Corps. I had already planned on spending year to two years and it was perfect! Also I had already talked to Dave Childers and Michelle and Jeff Thieson! I prayed took some time and I feel that Journey Corps is what God had in store for me.
Your Heart For Missions
Growing up I have been so blessed with the family I've had and just the opportunities God has given me the talent to do. Starting about two years ago I started praying to God about what my next step should be "God I am blessed what can I do to be a blessing." Through alot of dead ends He has led me to a missions trip in Africa.
How Would You Rate Your interest in Missions? 1 being little interest 10 being life calling
I have been to Mexico, Vicente Guerro to be exact, in 2007. Spending two weeks in Mexico really gave me a new perspective on my life and the needs of others. This trip might have been the beginning of what God did to steer my heart towards missions.
What interests, abilities, and gifts has God given you?
I love community, making friends, time with my maker every day, God has gifted me with being able to pick up instruments pretty quickly. Sports as well. I love Birds!!
How Did You Find Us
I found you guys through World Ventures Website. I had already talked to Dave Childers and Michelle and Jeff Theison so I had already made the first steps required to get plugged in! I thought after looking at the tracks, God this is what you meant for me.

So I think this last month I've been learning how perfect God's love is for us. There is no flaw in God's love. I think about how many times I have forgotten this and will still probably forget in the future. If God's love was anything less that perfect then I and none of us would be able to reach it. It's just kind of blowing my mind once again that God loves me so much.

We look forward to helping to provide you chances to try the numerous tracks of interest to you, and as you and we work together we can develop a method to the trying of them so as to work towards seeing what spot God has for you. Interesting on the birds - particularly the homing pigeons - perhaps if we all make it to the national park along the coast your knowledge/experience may come in handy (as they say there are a wide range of foul living there).

wow thats great! I have lived in the NW my whole life... Do you know Joe Poppino? Soma Community Church? My best friend is an elder at Soma in Tacoma. Went to Multnomah so probably know all those peeps at your church. The Theisens have been discipling me in building community for years now, almost served with them long term in Uganda/ Sudan.

Holly - great to see you on here! Katrina and I are looking forward to meeting you in Cote d'Ivoire, as we'll be helping to lead up this whole crazy thing we're all getting into. I'm a huge believer in learning through asking questions - so start firing away with any of them you may have to whoever with Journey Corps you feel you'd like to ask. Two questions for you as you continue in this journey: 1) does your love of birds include owning one or more and what do you enjoy most about them 2) you've got a pretty wide range of tracks you're interested in - are you hoping to integrate them all together or simply try each of them out?
