- Helped recruit Journeyers in Portland at campuses, was at World Venture in Denver on the Journey Corps home staff for 6 months, and am now in Bouake Cote d'Ivoire on the Advance Team. We are developing the program for next year, learning French, and how to live together as Gospel Community with Journey Corps.

Crazy first day in Africa looking for new vehicles for JC, new
appliances, Sim cards to put in iPhone, had Ivorian pizza for lunch, and
just got a $2 haircut (now really short) from an African barber who
seemed to have never cut a white guys hair before!!

Community in Boauke, Cote d'Ivoire!!

Here is an amazing community called L'Arche that is all over the world. They have 4 communities in Africa and one happens to be in Boauke, just 5 miles from the ICA campus where Journey Corps West Africa is located!!

- the bats are no problem, what size is your net-book or make and model so i get a right one are you looking for something durable or something with a lot of pockets. i'll let my 19 yr old son to translate water bottle. and i think ipod nano is no problem. a few of the brothers here have pitched in a little money so pick a few more if you want. it really helps all of us be empowered to help. and be part of the body there.
the lLord has laid on my heart to support work in bouake and ferke so i'm expecting great things to come.
frankly, some of the help ive offered to some of the journeyers has been shunned but i guess i can be a little over the top and i'm just a crazy old man compared to u guys but. but i believe in thinking big and i really believe it. humor me. mark

- hi daniel, i'll bring fax machine or scanner if i can find room. the school has my bags pretty full but rest assured you'll get one. ive got three extra but i'm gonna shop for a real small one, seems a scanner would serve you best. as most fxs also copy and print. and are big. you be the judge. i hope you already have printer and copier. may also bring toner cartridges as well as some are quite small.coordinate with rod as he is spearheading this effort. hey thanks for commenting back as most offers for support go un-answered mark

- Rod & Jim both said lots of money for furnishings, but Rod just OK'd the adjustment to $800. I was told that there were no beds, dressers, etc. available for us.
I can pick a good bike here, but I'd rather buy one there to save the transport fee. Anything good there

- That's kinda scary. Yup. My sending church finally gave their bit and I'm at 90%. This doesn't include anything that I want, only needs (if I get over 100%, I'll buy a bike, a bed, a bureau, etc). . Once I get to 100%, I'm going to call and ask if I can come out early. My gramma just broke her hip, so I am visiting her. The earliest I could do it was the end of August, so I am free after that to leave.
