Mimi and I may have some leadership roles but time has taught us a few things about expectations.  We try to make those "wants" for joining Journey Corps be "desires" rather than expectations.  Expectations assume that someone or something else needs to fulfill your needs or that someone or something fails you.  Desires on the other hand don't assume there will be fulfillment.  I know this might sound like a twist of words but it's not.  It really makes a difference.  We don't know what to expect when we get to Journey Corps.  So why set ourselves up for a fall.  There are some things we "desire" to see or have happen.  But we can't know if they will happen.  If they do we'll be excited.  If they don't...well they just don't.  You might say a "desire" is an "expectation" held loosely.  Regardless of how you want to say it expect as little as possible and be excited when the unforeseen blessings pour in.  Blessings!
